I don't think it's fair to judge you for buying a $400 phone. In fact, I even think that's really cheap because for example, the cheapest iPhones (iPhone 5's) are €676 here, which is approximately $882. Back in 2011, I also bought an iPhone which was actually way more expensive than the iPhone 5 now. Hope your insurance covered it.

its funny that people are judging this person for having a $400 phone when full retail prices for phones are pretty expensive. the reason they're cheap at the phone stores is because you usually get them with a contract or upgrade. and for everyone saying she should put down her phone - maybe her phone was in her pocket. i always leave my phone in my pocket if i'm not using it. stop being such judgmental jerks and look at yourself first.

You could try putting the phone in alcohol or rice. Might not work with that much water damage, but it's worth a shot. Good luck OP!!!
