Today, I was in a music shop looking for a new guitar when someone called out someone else's name and jumped on my back. I lost balance and fell forward and broke 3 guitars and damaged another 6. The guy said "Sorry, thought you were someone else" and ran out. I now have to pay £2500. FML

That's BS. Were you the only two people in the store? Because if you weren't you can get some people to vouch for you. I wouldn't give them anything. That's absolutely ludicrous.

Don't stores have insurance to cover things like this? Definite FYL.

Exactly. Didn't anyone see what happened? This really isn't your fault and you don't owe them anything. Also, I hate people who just jump on someone's back unexpectedly. You could seriously damage a person's spine that way, I'd be really pissed if someone did that.

I think he could have an FML of this too, for confusing you with someone else.

#26, are you serious? Yeah, that guy confused him with someone, but then he ran off and didn't deal with the consequences. The store asked the OP to pay for it, so it's her FML by far. Re: original post, though, you really shouldn't have to pay for anything, and would almost certainly win if you had to go to court to avoid paying for it. That said, the store owner just got 9 guitars destroyed, and it's certainly not HIS fault. What really needed to happen was one of you stopping the asshole who jumped on your back, before he could run out of the store. It's all his responsibility, and now you can't find him again. I hope the owner has insurance...
