Today, I was in class and noticed that it smelled strongly of cat urine. I smelled my shoulder and realized that my cat had peed on my sweater. I had six hours of classes left, and the smell had permeated my shirt. FML

how did you not notice it when you put it on? the shoulder was probably crusty xD

The OP just wanted to use the word "permeated."

that's what you get for having sex with cats.

yes! this is xactly what I wished would have have happen to a grammer Nazi! or to be snickerdoodles!

Maybe if you people typed on the internet like you have a proper education, Snickerdoodles wouldn't have to be the infamous 'Grammar Nazi' you piss and moan about.

Maybe snickerdoodles should capitalize the first letter of her name before commenting on other peoples' grammar.

As soon as there's a way to change the username once it's been made, you let her know and I'm sure she'll be more than happy to change it. Most usernames across the internet are lowercased, because there was a time when you couldn't use case-sensitive usernames. Some of us grew up in that era of the internet and it's a habit that's difficult to break. Other grammar and spelling errors are inexcusable unless you're under the age of 10 or if English is clearly not your first language.

Yeah I remember when I didn't capitalize. Now it's mostly habitual. It's not necessarily snickerdoodles' place to correct all grammar, but I'm not complaining honestly. I never have. I do agree on the fact that people should type in complete sentences however, that would make threads more interesting and reduce the amount of questions being asked. It would also increase the number of ideas going around. Too bad it won't happen anytime soon.

or if we choose not to capitalize correctly because we enjoy pissing you guys off because you over-react. :D

I understand the occasional grammar error, such as capitalization issues. I still have that issue myself on forums or chats. But when people are purposely typing in "txt spk" and refusing to put important punctuation like commas, periods, or question marks, it gets very annoying and hard to read.

Ajjas013 6

I agree. I normally don't use end punctuation in a chat, but I do use proper grammar. However, I'm ok with shortcuts like 'lol'.

Of course. It would be strange for people to type out as "I'm laughing out loud". but typng leik dis is abit to much or even worst typing like you dont even no were the punctuation marks our and given the impression that you feel asleep during all youre grammer and english classes

Ajjas013 6

Right, I was reading quickly along until you strtd typng lek dis. I had to slow down to read that. It just complicates things. *Points out that you spelled grammar wrong* *Adjourns meeting.*

Simply making an example of what I'm talking about. I never spell grammar wrong except on purpose because I used to play something called "Grammar Games" on the PC a long time ago. I always remembered the way it spelled out just because of the title appearing every time I played.

Maybe snickerdoodles doesn't consider her "nick" a proper noun. I know that's why I didn't capitalize mine. I think of mine as just an average adjective or adverb depending on its usage. Does it refer to me directly, and therefore, deserve capitalization? Yes, and nope: my nick, my rules.

Ajjas013 6

Well, I learned in English that all names are proper nouns, therefore they should be capitalized.

the only reason I type or text things out fully is because I'm not used to the other way... but isn't this the age of text and shorthand? what's the point of the Lol's, u's, and cuz's if you're attacked everytime you do it? I find it rather ridiculous, no one died and granted us the title of "Hooked on Phonics Overlord" so why not leave "ppl" alone. as long as you know how to make a proper sentence then I don't see anything wrong with being fun..

The point of text speak is just that, to be used in texts. You know, because of the limited space you have. However using it for anything else just makes the user look childish, no matter how old they actually are. Plus, not having access to your school reports the average internet user can only judge your intelligence based on what they see. So you may not feel you have to type things correctly, but don't be offended if people make unfair judgments based on said typing.
