OP is full of BS. No one getting a Ph.D. has a class with TAs. Ph.D. classes are specialized, and they are taught exclusively by professors (because TAs are not qualified to teach Ph.D. courses). Only undergrad classes have TAs. OP may be intending to get a Ph.D. eventually but is still an undergrad and not yet admitted to a Ph.D. program. Also, first year graduate students, who are often TAs, are usually 22, right out of undergrad. There are also appropriate ways of questioning a prof or TA w/o challenging their authority in the class.
Actually, I've been in classes with PhD students that had TAs. The class may be open to both grad students and undergrads, with different assignment/final requirements for the different levels of student.
first of all; I doubt the op is actually getting a phd. and secondly all yall dumbass that think yall know something needs to shut the ***** up. the op is non traditional student that think they know a little something cuz they're older. the point is that not the case. if a ta is teaching a class they have a least gotten a degree In the subject matter. so ***** you if you disagree with the truth that Ive spoken
Please, tell us other important life lessons you learned in the Ghetto. Perhaps creative spellings for other curse words?
I don't think you have the right to call anybody a dumbass when you can't spell the word "****". I realize that pointing out your spelling errors doesn't constitute an argument but I just can't take you seriously when you type like that. So anyway, how exactly does having a degree affect the truth value of a statement? Any asshole can get a bachelor's degree if they're willing to do a little bit of work. You aren't granted universal knowledge, you're given the paper equivalent of a pat on the back and a little bit more respect. Granted, the TA got accepted into grad school, but that doesn't make him infallible. Chances are the OP did know better about an event that he was present for than his TA did whose primary experience comes from a textbook.
Maybe in this case OP was right, maybe not, but I just wanted to point out that a lot of times, "being there" only gives you a partial knowledge of things, biased by so many factors (the least of which is the fact you can't fly around to see all that's going on, not to mention affiliation with one or the other side can change how you view things on the spot, depending on what type of situation it is, etc...), and so it's completely possible that the TA had the full unbiased version of the facts while you had a partial and wrong account of it... thus resulting in that situation. In other words, maybe you're right, and maybe you're just a moron. We'll never know which it is since none of us was there.
Waaaaah! I deserve more respect because I'm older! Seriously, kiss my ass. You're the one heading back to college, putting yourself in student-mode again. If you can't suck it the **** up and re-learn how to deal with getting treated like a student, then too bad - maybe you don't deserve a Ph.D.
i doubt a person would be kicked out for simply making a correction. my guess is the OP started an argument and interrupted the class, and if a student does that then it's fair to ask them to leave. it always seems to be the older students who argue with what's being taught because they think they know better, and it's really frustrating because it just wastes time for everyone in the class who wants to learn the actual course material (and in my experience the ones starting arguments are usually SO wrong anyway).

The comment above me was highly insightful.
It's amazing how the tiniest amount of power goes to some peoples' heads

More proof that TA's are TA's for a reason: They don't know shit and the only reason they got to be TA is because they kissed a lot of ass to get there.
