Today, I was in class. I am an older student going back for my PhD. I was kicked out of class for "sassing" my instructor for telling him he was wrong about what took place at an event I was actually present at. My instructor is a 22 year old TA. FML

He needs a whuppin'. Tell him to cut you a switch. Back in your day, people didn't take this kind of crap!

More proof that TA's are TA's for a reason: They don't know shit and the only reason they got to be TA is because they kissed a lot of ass to get there.

Real PhD students in *real* doctoral programs do not have TA's as instructors: TA's (either Master's or PhD candidates) only teach UNDERGRAD classes and never teach their peers; PhD students do not take undergrad classes. Ergo: You are full of it about getting a PhD. I'd be on your side if you weren't lying your ass off about your degree and coursework.

Are you one of those annoying older students and this was the last straw? So many older students are really REALLY annoying.

Yeah it's some bs man :/ Ive actually gotten suspended from school before because I was "Talking back to and disrespecting the teacher"... I totally shouldve known that letting a mathematics teacher know that she had the wrong answer (therefore teaching all the students incorrectly, by the way) is rude, right? xD

I once had a teacher tell me that my answer on a test was wrong. I proceeded to take out the story that the test referred to and showed her that my answer was correct. She still took forever to take back that point...had to "remind" her numerous times before it happened...wouldn't have cared, except that it was only worth 10 points, so that was the difference between a B and C.

word of advice, teachers don't like it when u correct them, even if ur rite

Is any one else wondering what the subject/event was? ;)

teachers are narcissists and self-righteous (not all of them, but mostly). I should know, my teacher failed me in French because he wouldn't believe he had the wrong information until I showed him a dictionary. He failed me because I corrected him and "I shouldn't do that, what do I know about teaching".

there's a reason why these types remain in academia vs practicing in their respective fields.

Maybe it was the manor in which you presented yourself and not the fact that you said he was wrong...
