Right, the kitchen floor sounds like a much likelier place for a nap than, say, a couch.

Show it anywayAlso, the sort of person who would accuse the victim of their child's assault of "sleeping on the job" would probably accuse you of being a nonce for filming them (presuming you had enough warning to do so), or the child would.
Seriously OP, press charges if you haven't already. A 10 year old is more than old enough to know that what he did is wrong and that hitting someone in the head with an object hard enough to knock you out can cause serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. In the US, it's not just assault, it's assault with a deadly weapon. And *please* go to the hospital and get checked out if you haven't already. I can't emphasize that enough. Any loss of consciousness needs to be evaluated by a doctor, especially if that loss of consciousness is the result of trauma. You need a CT scan and a thorough neurological examine by a doctor to check for severe injuries, such as bleeding or swelling. You may also need to stay in the hospital for observation. Even if the injury is considered minor by medical standards, any traumatic brain injury is still serious and isn't something to mess around with.
I used to babysit a violent child too, and the parents (who where my parent's neighbours) did not take me seriously. She took my glasses and broke them, spit on me, would grab my hair and pull as hard as she could. If I didn't let her do what she wanted she would threaten to tell her parents I did something inappropriate. Seriously just an evil child. Her parents would be like "well she's 11. You're 15. Can't you handle a child?". Like, maybe if I were allowed to smack her around like she was doing to me I could. Refused to ever babysit for them again. She's 26 now and just a crazy person from what I've heard. As much as it sucks losing a job, you're probably better off not being around people like that
How did the kid knock you unconscious?
I really hope you got checked out, OP. At the least, you may have a concussion. But going by the fact that you lost consciousness, that suggests you may have a subdural bleed. It can take several days for symptoms to appear if the bleed is slow. Don't want to scare you, but take care of yourself.
To be fair, if the kids are knocking you unconscious then its probably time they get someone more prepared to deal with them
Or they deal with them themselves like normal parents!
Who do you think would be prepared enough to deal with their hellspawn? Satan?
How do you get knocked out by a 10 yr old
A ten year old is probably big enough to do the job with a cricket bat, if they get their victim by surprise.

I hope you went straight to hospital to get checked out and right after that to police and filed an assault charge. Being blacked out for any amount of time is a serious health issue and a concussion and headache would be the least of your worries. As harsh as it sounds, if the kid doesn't learn what consequences are, he is going to kill someone before he's a teen.
You lost your job? Did the mom not give you any time to explain..? (I think I already know the answer)
