Today, I was leading a wheelchair fundraiser to raise money to make public areas wheelchair accessible. I had several guest speakers, all of which were confined to wheelchairs. About ten minutes after the fundraiser was supposed to begin, I realized that the stage was wheelchair incompatible. FML

It just proves your point, doesn't it? It sucks that the speakers couldn't get to the stage, but now the entire audience is thinking, "Wow, if only this place was wheelchair compatible...", which should make them more likely to donate money.

lol #21 is right Oh and if I was in that situation, I would just try to find something that would make a ramp. I'd test it to see if it could hold someone first. I dunno what you could have used as a makeshift ramp. Look around and be creative lol

If you picked the location... you are an idiot. If not, you should have used it to your advantage as #5 suggested, showing how there is not enough wheelchair accessibility in this world. Also, it's "several guest speakers, all of WHOM were confined to wheelchairs." not "all of which". Sorry, my inner grammar Nazi took over for a bit.

It's also offensive to use the phrase "confined to a wheelchair".

Ouch!!! i mean nice job and effort on the fundraiser...but....yeah...don't really kno wut to say to that.

More like "Today I was a guest speaker for a wheelchair fundraiser the stage wasn't wheelchair compatible. FML."

Try not to think of the stage as wheelchair incompatible but rather, able-bodied-centric.

You know your comment fits perfectly with your profile picture, please never make the duck face again. It's not hot, attractive, cute, pretty or anything positive for that matter

I think it’s a FML. Even if the op did choose the location, it’s an easy thing to have overlooked since you have so many other things about the event on your mind. It’s also easier to call someone/yourself an idiot only after making a mistake but how often do we compliment or give ourselves a pat on the back when we do something right. I would think not very often.
