Probably said it from past experience with our generation even I hate it
I've been raised to respect my elders. But if they act entitled and insult you like this lady, I really don't feel like he/she should be respected.
The more entitled an old person (or anyone else for that matter) behaves, the less I'm inclined to respect them. Respect goes both ways!
how dare you OP! how can you be that impolite to not stay standing in the door even if it smashed against your shoulders again and again until the old lady went through. shame on you!
The door stays open when someone is right in front...
Obviously they are being sarcastic...
Some old people are senile and didnt have automatic doors back in their day... Lol
laugh it off OP laugh it off
She's an example of "everything wrong with the older generation" - crabby technophobes.
My dad is also like that and he's in his 50s! Not so much with online things because he can book a flight and do taxes just fine. But just last week I had to spend a good 2 minutes assuring him that his Word document was saved despite the fact that "the screen didn't change when I clicked save". And even though this stuff has been around for quite a bit of his life, and will be for the rest of it, he says he has no desire to learn how to use technology.
This happened to me once too. Only she was a middle aged woman. She gave me this super dirty look and asked me "didn't your trailer trash mother teach you any manners?" I laughed in her face.
Don't hypocrites like this realize the irony of the situation, and that THEY're being the rude pieces of shit? I would have loved to put her in her place.
I would've been like "Hey, stupid bitch, didn't anyone ever teach you that an automatic door opens by itself?" And that is the nice version.
It's technically true. I hate my generation as a freshman, but in this situation it wasn't applicable. She's just an odd duck.
All generations suck. The generations prior will always pick on the younger generation while their generation had it's idiots. Just think, it wasn't our generation that was pre dominately racist or sexist. We are a more accepting generation.
The thing that gets me is that the older folks who pick on this generation are the ones who raised/taught us. Granted, I've seen my fair share of idiots, but shouldn't the parents take a wee bit of responsibility?
I guess automatic doors were not around in her days...she'll probably be the only one that will ever say anything...

Some old people are just assholes.
Some people just look for excuses to shout and rant at something. I'm sure of it were a normal door you would have held it open for her! I swear people all over the place just want to use "Well, back in my day..." Keep doing what you're doing OP! :)
