Today, I was listening to music while I wrapped Christmas presents. All was going well when the music was cut off, literally. I snipped the cable to my very expensive headphones in half. FML

Today, my mother threw away my brand new headphones. She saw them on the couch with duct tape on the wires and assumed they were "old, broken, and cheap." I put the tape there to avoid damaging the wires. FML

Today, I was listening to my music on my phone through my Bluetooth wireless headphones. While listening, I turned my music and the power on my headphones off for a bit. I thought I'd lost them when I got home. They were so loosely fit over my ears that I felt like an idiot when I realized they were still on my head. FML

Today, I attempted to untangle a pair of headphones. Somehow, in the process, I managed to tie them into a knot so complicated that it's now a permanent part of my life in the "great big box of mystery cables that lives in the garage." FML

Today, the speakers on my laptop weren't working. I worried I'd broken something, and started freaking out. I restarted my computer numerous times and played with the settings for an hour before calling my sister in to help. She looked at it for two seconds, then unplugged my headphones. FML

Today, I decided to listen to some music at work, so I plugged in my headphones and turned on Spotify. Only the music decided to play out loud instead. I was called a “disrespectful little bitch who wasn’t raised right” for not using my headphones. FML

Today, I was taking a bus ride home, listening to some music. The music stopped and I assumed my iPod's battery had run out. Turns out someone managed to steal it, leaving my earphones in. I didn't feel a thing. FML

Today, I had a video call with a couple of old friends, but the conversation sort of got boring, so I started mouthing words so they'd think the connection was bad and end the awkwardness. Then, as soon as they hung up the call, I realized I'd left my music on in the background the whole time. FML

I promise I won't be dull and make any puns on this one. I promised to cut it out. Instead, I'll think of something more cutting edge. I'm at a loss at this point, probably due to this splitting headache. I'd probably butcher any attempt at being a cut-up anyway, so I'll just cleave it alone. I've cut my earphones before you should do what I do strip down the wires put each each of the same wire in a really small wire nut (same for the other wire) then just tone secure wrap the wire nuts in electric tape so they don't fall off....it'll be a little more bulky but at least they'll work again :)

Reminds me of my "duurrrrrr" miment wrapping gifts as a kid. I was wrapping them on the bed and couldn't find any scissors so I grabbed my dad's box cutter. I slid it all the way down the paper, slicing it, marveling how sharp it was. I lifted up the paper, realized I sliced my mom's expensive new quilt in half on her bed.
