IDGI. What's wrong with a job? any job? Sure, you don't get to go to a fancy party and brag to your friends about your prestegious job, but trust me in this economy, you probably aren't going to find a high-paying job with your degree for a long, long, long time. Suck it up and take the job.
Maybe you have thought about your student loans when picking a major. A degree in finance is now like a degree in art and anyone with a good financial mind would have seen this coming.
Maybe you have thought about brushing up your English before posting??
And what is wrong with a degree in art?
Get over yourself. You're the only one that passed the drug test. Your degree doesn't even factor into it, much less it's cost.
All work is good work, and I agree with Kukopia. Someone has to do the job, and YOU'RE as capable as anyone else.
rOn-b: good attempt.. .
Why is everyone being such assholes about the OP's situation? This is an unfortunate situation due to the downturn of the economy. He was merely stating the cost of his degree to EMPHASIS why it is a "fml." I really just wonder if you all are just bitter 20 year olds who got rejected from top universities, or just highschool students who know nothing about the pressures associated with college graduates. The OP worked hard in high school, attended a great university with a solid degree, and so it is NATURAL to desire or deserve a job better than that of a crossing guard, which, let's face it...ANYONE can do.
Haha! i agree with the bitter 20 year old part :') They got no idea what it takes to study at a high level and deal with the pressure, not to mention the debt!!! When you do so much trouble for your future, you better damn well get a good paying job and not a low one.
I would think that job would be perfect. Have the late morning and early afternoon open; excellent times for interviewing for a better job. In the mean time, you're paying the bills. Now, depending on the student loan situation, it might actually make financial sense to not take a job, since that will trigger repayments on the loans. Might actually end up in worse financial shape than before.
Man you people suck lol well some of you.. When you invest so much time and money into an education you WANT a good job. That's a big fckin' duh.. I'm not going to university, wasting another 6 years of my life AND getting a big debt just to get a average job i could have gotten at the age of 16! That's ridiculous. People who say you should just take it are just people who themselves couldn't be assed to spend some time and money on education and feel insulted once someone who HAS put alot of trouble into their education does not want a low paying job like that. Simple like that. I don't think you should take it, recession or not. You can do far much better, just keep on looking. Don't take with less thn you deserve! You worked hard for it, spend alot of time and money so tell em to shuv that job and keep looking! You're NOT being picky, just realistic.

does the marginal benefit exceed the marginal cost?
STOP SIGN. REFLECTIVE VEST. Why the hell not? You can do like, awesome little dances, and tell the kids, "Don't stop!" as they're crossing the road, and only hope a passerby will cry out, "BELIEEEVIN'!" Orrrr, you can be one of THOSE crossing guards, and spank kids with the stop sign when they're being naughty naughtyyy.
