Well im a little confused here but ill give my thought anyways, arent you supposed to stay back from the person while they are using a defribulator? or else you will get shocked or whatever and if u dont get shocked why would they say stay back, i took first aid in school they specifically made a point to stay away from them.
I just finished a 2 day training course with st. john's ambulance and learned that internal defibrillator's do not make the whole body jump... they make the skin quiver. If you were using an AED, it would make the body jump, but not enough to hit you in the nuts. (AED= Automated External Defibrillator)
@ MedicQT HAHAHA @ the scene on the roof, absolutely brutal...
When you the defibrillator is going you shouldn't be near the body anyway, especially not performing CPR since it can mess up the heart beats and the effectiveness of the defibrillator, when it fires you are supposed to stand back. At least that's how i learned it, like 4 months ago... so ydi. :P
This story is bullshit. when using an AED you're not even close to the body. The moment the AED is brought to the patient, you stop giving CPR. The AED has both the capacity to stop and restart the pumping of the heart. Had you been close enough, you would've died from the shock. = =
sounds like a good day to me. BYL. (bless your life)
Hope she was okay.

:-( sorry dude, you were doing a great deed and you got injured. I'd still give you a pat on the back though.
AICD's have been around for a long time. they work the same as the pads, sending massive wattage across your heart and will cause a convulsion in the limbs. go google it ffs.
