#31 so you're in the medicine field, you sure its not the medical field you're in? and i'm and EMT and i've done CPR numerous times and no where in hell are you supposed to straddle the body! you get the best leverage when you are off to the side because your shoulders are directly above the sternum and how would you straddle someone who is 300 pounds? cause thats most of my cardiac arrests. and you are never supposed to step over the patient, so straddling them is out of the question! and EMT_Koulianos if you really are an EMT then you should know that you don't do CPR if they have an internal defib because doing CPR when the defib is firing causes it to see unstable rhythms and it will keep shocking them, so in essence you were putting them back into cardiac arrest.
WOW this is such a lie defiblirators dont make you jump, that only happens in movies dumbass you wouldnt even notice someone was being shocked if you saw it happen
#96 - Yes, you DO do CPR when an INTERNAL defib is firing #97 - The body jumps when you shock with an EXTERNAL defib. Yes, it really does jump. Not like feet off the ground, but the arms will go up towards the chest, and the torso will rise. Unless the person is super heavy, then just the arms move, but the body will "shake".
At least you saved a life!!
I feel for you... EMS: The Forgotten
well if you were doing CPR properly her hand wouldnt be in a position to hit you in the nuts just saying. also wouldnt you get shocked too?
i know lets all call the ppl who know what they are talking bout iditos cos we think we know the right way to do it cos we saw it on TV yay
Best of the day.

:-( sorry dude, you were doing a great deed and you got injured. I'd still give you a pat on the back though.
AICD's have been around for a long time. they work the same as the pads, sending massive wattage across your heart and will cause a convulsion in the limbs. go google it ffs.
