1. to everyone saying masks can't stop a virus: airborne viruses usually spread through saliva coughed up or sneezed by an infected person...so the mask stops the saliva (and other crap that can come up from a cough/sneeze) from making contact with your mouth...so stop pretending you know so much about viruses just because you've already taken biology in high school and do some ******* research before you feel so high and mighty for knowing one little fact about microbiology 2. this was a bit of an overreaction OP, but hey...if you're a germaphobic i can completely understand why you were wearing one...besides, you have the right to wear the mask if it makes you feel safer (i think?i'm not exactly "law-savvy") 3. to everyone saying a cop would never do this sort of thing: i have nothing against cops...in fact, i've met a very nice one who should've given my mom a ticket, but didn't...but, just like with everything, there has to be someone who ruins the purpose of gaurding the people and turns it into an abuse of power. most cops do their jobs dilligently, but there is always that one person who ruins a reputation...so, overall i don't think cops are bad, but if this person has bad luck they could easily have gotten the "bad seed of the crop" 4. yeah, the media is over-exploiting this (as usual), but that doesn't stop it from being a threat in those areas...just because a disease might only kill 5 people of a population, those people had friends, family, and someone to love...so don't say it's no big deal, because it IS a ******* HUGE deal for the people who had to lose a loved one.so to those saying, "big deal...it's like the SARS scare...hardly anyone is gonna die" think of it this way...what if it was your brother/sister, friend, parent, or other relative who died?would statistics matter to you then?because if anyone i knew died from this, i wouldn't give a damn about statistics...all i would know is that someone close to me died and there was nothing i could do to make him/her better
