Today, I was pulled over for speeding. I speak 4 languages and thought if I spoke French, the Officer would let me off with a warning thinking I was a tourist. Afterwards I turned to my wife and said "I can't believe that worked." He was a few feet away and heard. FML

Time to state the obvious: should have waited until he was IN his car. YDI, son. :/

ALMOST got away with it, would have been awesome!

Dumbass maybe whisper ? Or wait until he's gone ?

Dude, do you think tourists drive their own cars brought over in their luggage?

pompous ass comes to mind. YDI, pompous ass.

You're awesome for knowing 4 languages. That should definitely be a get out of jail free card if you ask me.

This is something I've thought about doing for a long time. (I speak German). But -- anyhow- - something similar happened to me in France in 1992 or so. I was driving a van with a friend from Germany. We were driving at night through France. We saw a bunch of cops pulling people over. I got pulled over. My friend speaks a little French, but kept silent. I speak none. When the gendarme came up to the van, he started talking to me about something (I don't think I was speeding) - I told him in English that I was an American. Our conversation went nowhere and soon he just waved me on. (I think I may have shown him my passport and/or international driving license, though.)
