Today, I was reviewing documents at work, only to find one of my coworkers has been signing off on paperwork, claiming he's been walking one of the residents daily. Aside from being a double leg amputee, the patient died two weeks ago. The state review board comes this week. FML

I can't believe he got away with this for that long. Doesn't anyone else check up on these "caregivers"?

I don't see how this is much a FML, the board will see where he signed and he'll get punished, you're not afflicted by this in any way

Shouldn't those papers be check daily or once a week just to keep track of those who actually do their job? o_O

The walking part can be explained, the caregiver could push a wheel chair around so the resident gets out of their room. But the resident would have to be alive to do that. Lol.

The state comes in for inspection once a year to every facility. OP is probably doing chart audits in preparation for the state visit I've seen people escorted from the building for this type of thing and more recently an administrator received a jail sentence for Medicare fraud
