Are you a guy or a girl?
im sure the OP didnt have anothe helmet because he isnt used to wearing a helmet when riding a bike...this one time with his parents forcing him to wear it may have been his like first time wearing one, and the only other helmet they had was the pretty blue one. FYL...
they're just jealous. they wish they weren't desperate for people's acceptance of 'being cool' so they could wear a sweet ass helmet like that. or maybe they really just liked your helmet.
Id totally buy the dorkiest helmet I could if I rode a bike.. Embrace it and everyone else will too. If not, at least you'll know you look friggin awesome!
The other day a friend was riding his bike and got hit by a car. He flipped over the handle bars and faceplanted onto the road. His face was bloody as hell and the next day his lip was as swollen as you'd ever believe. Wearing a helmet is a good thing. Remember a cracked helmet isn't a cracked skull. Safety isn't a bad thing :P Get a new helmet.
Okay, #1 and #7, you guys have probably been hit on the head so many times that you think wearing a helmet is a dumb idea. IT'S SAFETY PEOPLE!!!!!! My great-uncle had permanent brain damage when he rode a bike without a helmet and got hit by a car. As for the OP, kinda sad that your mom doesn't understand sarcasm. You should definitely get a new helmet.
why is everyone knocking at #7? she said her parents mustn't understand sarcasm never even mentioned a helmet or am I reading a different 7
Since you're under 18, it's the law to wear a helmet. And doesn't that make sense? Those college kids wouldn't want anything to do with you anyway since you're only 16. Wouldn't you rather they make fun of you for wearing a helmet than have them make fun of a disability you would attain after falling off your bike while helmet-less? Think about it.
#18 (musicloverr) I don't know how you people cycle, but seeing as im Dutch, i've been cycling since i was 3. I've been in numerous accidents with my bike, flew over my handlebars, been hit by cars etc, but i've never cracked my head open or even injured my head. Am i lucky? No, there are more cycles in this country then there are people, we all cycle and hardly anyone wears an helmet. Yet no one cracks their skull open (maybe the rare idiot here and there, but they're idiots). Thus wearing an helmet is foolish, retarded and overprotective while cycling in my book. Thats like wearing a full protective leather motorsuit while cycling because you might fall, omg you might bleed abit! And about the retarded, so your sister is autistic and you're offended that i say retarded. Can i assume from that, that you relate being autistic to retarded? If so then i feel sorry for your sister for having you as a sister.
I agree with your argument about helmets, but the government in Holland wants everyone to wear a helmet when riding a bike. But you are right. the only thing that happened to me while riding a bike for 20 years is breaking my wrist. A helmet wouldn't have helped. Hollanders kunnen gewoon beter fietsen dan die amerikanen:p

At least you are being safe... I had a friend die because he wasn't wearing a helmet. your parents are smart.
As much as I personally would like a blue helmet with flowers, I understand. I'm a college kid, and I'm willing to risk brain injury than be seen using a helmet on campus.
