Today, I was shocked to notice that my hair has started growing out entirely silver, supposedly due to pregnancy. I'm 19. Apparently, according to my aunt, "It runs in the family." FML

Embrace it. My brother went silver at 15. He made it work for him. The chicks go bananas.

Could be worse: what if female balding ran in the family?

If it runs in the family, than does that mean your a family of all silver-haired? Thats pretty cool

It's fine. Some people have hair go silver, bald, or white in their teens or twenties, where others make it to retirement age without anything happening to it, it's mainly genetic I think.

I would embrace it. It's like the stretch marks you will most likely get. My friends and family call them our battle scars. To show what we did for love. That's what your hair is.

My friend has had really long silver hair since he was 11, and everyone calls him Raiden.

I'm only 21 and I'm getting whites. Definitely not all over, but in enough places that I and my friends notice. You'll get used to it op, I promise.

You should be more worried about being pregnant at 19

but isn't that awesome, you'd look like an anime character!!

I'd be more concerned about being pregnant at 19 than my hair turning silver because of it. If you planned to get pregnant your family would have warned you about this, so clearly this child is an accident - good job on your unplanned teenage pregnancy and becoming another statistic! You should be super proud of yourself.

I dunno, notice how it was the aunt who told OP and not her mom/dad? Maybe she inherited it from her dad's side of the family, and since he (obviously) was never pregnant and therefore never had this silver-hair-pregnancy symptom, he just never thought to tell her? There's no way to know by the information given on the FML whether OP is "another statistic" or not. Tons of people get married by 18 and have their first kid by 19. Some aspire to be full time moms, and others continue to college regardless. No need to be so judgmental.
