Today, I was spending the night at my fiancé's house. He knew my period was about to start, so he asked if he needed to put a tarp down on the bed. He was dead serious. FML

That seems a bit like overkill, doesn't it? You should just stick to the standard practice of covering yourself in Saran Wrap and hopping around the house.

Maybe he meant put a tarp down during sex. It can sometimes be a little messy. Although a towel would make more sense in that case

*reads all the comments about sex* *is incredibly confused because not once did the FML mention sex* Alrighty then.

#34 we're all just a bunch of perverts don't worry. It is most commonly understood that if a woman is on her period that she is likely wearing a pad or tampon...for me that's what lead me to think sex bc otherwise the vag is safely plugged.

Except the FML said that she hasn't even started her period yet.

#57 some women do go ahead and begin wearing pads or panty liners a few days before it starts. for instance, I have unpredictable cycles but as most women I know my body well enough to know the signs and symptoms that effect me before I actually bleed. I get super bitchy and the cramps start up and I get emotional (this is what is called PMS in case you aren't aware of what that stands for it is PRE-Mentrual Syndrome - emphasis on the PRE. it can continue throughout the bleeding cycle but for me it decreases drastically once the lining of the uterus shreds I begin to bleed like a Mike Myers victim).I am very aware that she hadn't started her period yet...I know how to read.

Thinking since he knows this question has probably escalated...

At least your man will consider period sex. I'd love if my man would consider it, or at Least attempt anal. Not many men are into period sex, girl he's definitely a keeper.

Did he go from being dead serious to just dead

i shoulda used a tarp. towls do not prevent stains.

depends if you're just sleeping or if you were planning on *******... normally a towel is fine for the latter

I'm female and I thought it was rather smart. I've worn tampons and tampons with a pad and still leaked through the night. I probably should have used a tarp but never thought about it. Each woman is different. My husband couldn't understand why I had accidents. I also don't think period sex is gross at all. Running or sex always cured my cramps. PS. OB tampons are the best!

For the ladies with unpredictable heavy starts or night time leakage (like me) Huggies Goodnights bed pads made for kids who occasionally wet the bed are quieter than a tarp and more comfortable than a towel.... Just throwing it out there...

Don't be so serious with him lol. Everyone has dumb thoughts every now and then. Just hold it off with him and tell him we use towels, not tarps. He may not be as experienced with girls on their periods, period.

I agree with the fiance here. Put plastic down. Saves the mattress from every whoopsie. From sneaky heavy flow to dropped my damn coffee. Its not that big of a deal. Yes, there are enough layers you don't feel the plastic.
