Rofl @ vets not putting down a healthy dog - what do you think happens to the 1000's of dogs shelters can't afford to pay for every day?
This isn't really the time for stories, I suppose, but I felt the need to share anyway. When I was a little girl, I had a turtle. He died, and my parents told me he ran away. My TURTLE RAN AWAY. And, being two, I believed them. As for your dog, I don't know any vet who would put down an animal without good reason. Have you tried calling the vet's office and seeing if they can look up for you what reason was used to have him put down? If he had some kind of painful terminal illness, your dad probably thought he was doing the right thing.
@102, putting down dogs at a shelter is a different situation than an owned dog at an animal hospital. But, you're still right that vets can put down healthy dogs if you have enough complaints. You guys can look it up.
Omg! I would never speak to my dad again after that!
OmG that is so mean of him
first of all, why were you rummaging through your trash cans? and second of all, your father was probably just trying to keep you from having to know the horrible truth, he was just protecting you. be appreciative. ydi.

Aw, dude that sucks. Your dad is a bitch.
Wow, I can't find the appropriate words for your dad...so I just say: Whatever bad happens to him in life, he will totally deserve it.
