To everyone saying "YDI you shouldn't be writing notes on a test anyway": you can't be serious. First, he didn't write the note ON the test, it was on his hand. Secondly, if a teacher suspects people of cheating, he should at LEAST attempt to double check before going so far as to tear up the exam paper. Secondly, I doubt everyone here knows the particular rules of the OP's particular university/class/professor. At the uni I went to, there were never any "you must not have anything written on your hands" rules. Not to mention if he was going to cheat by writing on himself, you'd think he'd do it somewhere inconspicuous. When I was in highschool I wrote a maths formula on my upper leg under my skirt, so I coudl pull up the hem a little to check the formula. As it turns out, I remembered the formula anyway and didn't need to cheat, but you wouldn't write it somehwere so obvious as your hand.
"consider the teacher's point of view. What would have you thought if you saw someone doing an exam and noticed notes written on their hand?" Oh, I dunno, perhaps "maybe I should check what's written on his hand"? When I was in highschool I wrote stuff on my hands all the time, like homework reminders and stuff coz I was too lazy to get my homework diary out of my bag. I'm sure I went into exams with stuff written on my hands and nobody cared.
I would of Hulked out fo sho
lol. Sucks to be you. I've done exams with my textbook open on my desk and the teacher never said anything.
Umm... YDI ALOT! Exam conditions say that NO notes are to be written on yourself or additional pieces of paper. You may not have been writing answers on your hand, but you still broke the rules.
Depends where you live...where I am it doesn't say you can't have anything AT ALL written on yourself...obviously you can't have exam notes or anything like that, it's an exam but it doesn't say you can't write "pay the rent!" on your arm/hand/leg/ass if you feel like it.
This is why agendas and phones are invented, or little ropes around the fingers...
That really sucks, you'd think the prof would check the note first. Unfortunately, writing a note on your hand on an exam/test day was a bad idea. In our college, our desk must have nothing on it but the pen we are using. Some cases, you have to use the pencil provided by the prof, you can't use your own or an eraser. No hats on, bags at the back or front of the class, no papers or beverages on your desk, no pencil case, no cell pone, no jacket....nothing. They also have full right to kick you out if you so much as glance anywhere but at your paper or the ceiling. No bathroom breaks either obviously. These schools take exams seriously!!! YDI still
Really?? Don't you have a celphone...you know, for a celphone reminder? YDI for writing something in your hand. Whether it was "pay the rent" or the actual answers to your test. Or maybe a little post-it note on the fridge, notebook, car (if you have one), bus/train pass (if you're using public transportation to get around town), key to your bike lock (again, if you use a bike)...LOCKER (if you're still in HS)

That's messed up. He didn't even check to see what was written on your hand first? I write reminders in my hand all the time.
did he give you another chance?
