Today, I was talking to my boss about her children. She told me she didn’t want them to develop any problems by letting them sleep with the light on. I didn’t tell her last night I slept with the light on because I’m scared of ghosts. FML

Today, my daughter was acting strange. When she wasn’t muttering in some strange language, she was talking about invisible people coming to get me. Terrified, I called my boyfriend. Turns out he taught her that as a prank. He knows I’m afraid of anything supernatural. FML

Today, my daughter’s sleepwalking has been so bad that none of us has slept more than a few hours a night in weeks. We took her to a pediatrician, who referred her to a sleep clinic for children that has no openings for 6 months. My boyfriend is convinced my house is haunted, scaring the other kids. FML

Today, after my girlfriend had a nightmare this morning, I stayed home because she has really bad anxiety issues. A couple of hours later, she's pissed because I said I would stay up, but I fell asleep. FML

Fright night

Today, I couldn’t sleep because the hall light was too bright. Someone left their room; I waited for them to return so we wouldn’t cross paths. I got up and went for the light, only to find them peeing naked with the door open. In a panic I flipped any switch, which made the hall brighter, then ran. FML

Today, my little sister asked what the noises were last night. It happened to be my dad and his girlfriend fooling around. I ended up telling her it was ghosts. Now I'm grounded by my dad who yelled at me for scaring her. I was trying to save his ass from a lot of questions. FML

I sleep with the light on because it makes it easier to be on my laptop up until I'm just about to fall alseep and to get back on it when I wake up. My bed is kind of high off the ground and I'd just as soon not deal with flipping the switch all the time. I also slept with it on specifically the night I saw The Uborn but that was just cuz that movie was freaky! :P But how exactly is this an FML? It really isn't a very good one if it is one at all. I'm sure a lot of people could submit stories just like this. This person's life isn't f*ed because they sleep with the light on. :P

Plenty of hauntings occur in broad daylight or with the lights turned on. All you are doing is pointlessly wasting electricity and you should be ashamed of yourself for that.

What kind of problems can be developed by letting your kids sleep with the lights on? I see a bigger problem that could be caused by forcing them to turn the lights off: your kids being mad and scared of YOU, and thinking YOU don't want to protect them from the boogeyman or whatever it is they're scared will come after them in the night. I slept with the lights on for much of my childhood. I had a really overactive imagination. Now, I'm a well-adjusted, married, good job-having 23 year old who sleeps with the lights off...

yeah. I have an extremly overactive imagination. I'm 12 still sleep with the light on even tho I know nothin will hurt me I still hate the dark. I've had panic attacks cuz I imagine all these things r gonna get me and it really sux.
