Today, I was told I have bipolar disorder. I'm 31. It took so long to diagnose because my mom always figured I was "just a super bitch half the time." FML

Today, I found out that I was misdiagnosed with ADHD 10 years ago and instead have bipolar disorder. For the last 10 years I have been taking meds that helped me focus on my manic / depressive state. FML

Today, after a lifetime of struggles, I was finally officially diagnosed with ADHD. Thanks to years of ridicule, punishments, humiliation and even beatings over something I literally could not control, I also have terrible depression and anxiety. My mom still thinks I’m making it all up. FML

Today, I found out three things: One, I was apparently diagnosed with Tourette's as a child. Two, my parents apparently told everyone about it, and had no idea that I didn't know about this. Three, that the diagnosis is possibly incorrect. I'm in for quite the time. FML

Today, I found out the reason my mom took over 9 months to get me a therapist and much needed help after I told her how I had been depressed and suicidal for over two months. It wasn't because it was hard to find one, but actually because she thought I was making it up to cushion the fact that I got a C in a class. FML

Today, I saw a psychiatrist for the first time. After telling her everything I'm going through, she looked at me and said "You know… every five years or so I get a case completely beyond my ability to help." I guess it's been five years. FML

Today, I talked to my boss about the fact that I have been diagnosed as bipolar and I am having a really hard time with it. He told me to look on the bright side, now that I'm crazy I will never have to do Jury Duty. FML

Lol, or not so much. Same here, same here. I got ISP: Isolated-Sleep-Paralysis that's been recurrent since I was 12 -for me it's generally due to stress. But "the mother" keeps telling the doctors that I'm making it up and I just sleep too much. Sigh. I give up- until I turn 18.

Oh Dude! You can turn sleep paralysis into something beautiful like lucid dreaming or astral projection (assuming that you already do this by looking at your name :P) but if you've never tried it, you need to google it! It might be a nightmare for you, but I (experienced lucid dreamer/astral traveler) would see it like some sort of gift!

Way to be ignorant... It is called a mental disorder because the symtoms are caused by processes that are out of conscious control, and often influenced by a chemical imbalance .
