Today, I was trying to make a good impression with my fiancé's friends. After a few hours, I thought all was going well. As I walked to the washroom, I heard, "So what disability does she have? No one can be like that without something wrong in their brain." FML

Play along and punch them. Since you are retarded and can't control your actions

Well that's just rude. I hope your fiancé stood up for you.

Sounds like a compliment actually. Like "no one could be that charming and good looking and apparently intelligent without some kind of hidden weakness to balance the scales."

awe I'm sorry op ): look at the bright side, at least you're engaged and you know he loves you :)

Agreed they meant you to hear it, or they'd have waited until you were in the bathroom. That's just common sense. Unless they're seriously lacking in any. I have to ask, aren't friends references a bit dated? It's been ended for over 10 years.

I'm not sure if the OP had just left them to go to the washroom 2 seconds before, or if OP had been away from the group for a little while before overhearing this, but, Did it occur to anyone that maybe the friends might be talking about someone else? It doesn't excuse them talking like that, but there might be a chance that they weren't speaking about OP.

Maybe it's because you were being too amazing

this can't be the first time you have been made aware thst you are less intelligent than average.

you are engaged... meaning you don't have to impress anyone else... be you!

Bring it up subtly and then make a whole conversation about it. Make sure to let them know in the process that you heard what they said.
