Seeing as thought this is your son-in-law, I think it would have been more respectful to ask if there was a reason to why he was sleeping in so late. Obviously you're not that close with your daughter otherwise you would have probably known this information and not have been a complete bitch.

Ummm...OP, why didn't you ask your daughter why her hubby was asleep so late?? I can understand you want to make sure your daughter wasn't married to a lazy person, even though it really isn't your business. But still, you should've asked your daughter casually. And you must not have a close relationship with your daughter as you didn't know her hubby works the graveyard shift. OP, you totally deserve it.

I hope you were promptly bitched out by your daughter. Her husband is obviously working hard to support their family, and they were kind enough to let you come visit. You had no right to act in such a disrespectful manner.
