If you we're my mother in law, I would have chunked more than a shoe at your freaking judgemental ass. YDI for not paying attention to your families life. Asscandle
That's what you get for judging a book by it's cover. One concern though. Why the hell would he throw a shoe at you?
Definitely deserved this. You're a bitch. And if your daughter is perfectly content with her husband sleeping til noon, leave her be.
Why did you have to try and wake him up anyway? Even if he wasn't working a night shift, he's a grown man and it is NONE of your business when he sleeps. I'm a night owl, I stay up late and sleep late unless I have to work. It doesn't mean I'm lazy, it means I do things at a different time than some other people. I still clean my house, run my errands, go to the gym, etc. You need to start minding your own damn business. I hope the shoe he threw at you was steel toed.
Rearrange the letters in "mother in law" and you get "woman hitler".
A lot of these comments have been negative, but mine will be a little more understanding. My dad sleeps all day. He lives in the basement that was renovated into a room and he'll sleep ALL DAY unless someone wakes him up. To keep up appearances, he'll hobble out of bed long enough to wave to my mom as she goes to work and then crawls back in bed to sleep. If her daughter had made any kind of passing complaint to OP, then OP would have feelings of resentment. And if the OP is a 'fixer' like a lot of people are, I think it's understandable for her to want to help her daughter out. Maybe get him back a little. However, the fact that he works so late could've been something the daughter neglected to say. Either way, yes, what the OP did was wrong, I hear you. But I think name calling is kind of unjustified. :( Good luck, OP.
