there are a lot more sides to this than people are considering. i'll start this rant by saying, i wouldn't have allowed a homeless person to chase me over $5, but it's possible that the person who wrote this needed it. also, i live in one of the largest cities in the US and see homeless people all the time, and i volunteer in homeless shelters. a lot of the people who live on the streets are there due to addiction. money that you give them will go straight to drugs or alcohol. i've even run into a few cases where people dress and act homeless so they can just panhandle. it's better to just buy them a meal or tell them where the nearest location to a shelter is(trust me, it will do them so much better to know where they can get some sleep). also, i'm starting to believe most of you are only reading parts of what was written. the "hobo" handed it to this person; if it was his, he wouldn't have done that. obviously, this person realizes that the action they chose would be seen as shameful to most; it's stated in the message. so, please, don't call a stranger names when you're only seeing one side to a situation. i'm not saying that they were right or wrong, i just think that there is a lot more to any story than what people are able to see or hear.
The problem is this FML is pretty unclear, you kinda have to guess whether the man was the hobo. But otherwise your "rant" makes perfect sense. :)
Asshole. Plain and simple.
How do you even know that the 5 $ was the hobo's money? I mean, he IS a hobo, they don't have a decent income for crying out loud. Either he found it or stole it himself (I assume he, himself, had found it). Even so, if I was that said person who was given the money, I would have taken it. And I wouldn't have given it back either. Why give it back if they probably are going to waste it on alcohol or shiz like that?
