I've had a husky for pretty much my whole life and they are made to pull medium loads for long distances. they are very strong. what you need to do is make your husky respect you, and for all of you who wrap the leash around your wrists, that's not smart. the good thing is that if your dog had a collar or chip you will more than likely get your dog back. huskies aren't usually mistaken for strays.
oh my god that sucks! i feel horrible, losing your dog sucks. I really hope you find him and that your ribs heal fast and well! Erm... i wrap the leash of my gigantic newfoundland around my wrist all the time. Perhaps i should stop doing that.
If you can't hold the dog when it bolts you shouldn't be walking it. If it is icy then gets studs on the bottom of your shoes. Your bolting dog could get itself or someone else killed, I hope you find it before that happens.
Haha what an unlucky day. I hope you find your dog!
I would recommend if you find your dog, training him to walk on a leash.
sorry but, YDI for having a large dog you can't control. Get a smaller dog and train it better.
