It doesn't say it was a call. Maybe the OP works at a café or a shop or whatever and his grandmother stopped by.
Because, he was written up for it. It's that simple. There is no disseminating the sentence for secret messages. Chances are at the OP's workplace, it doesn't matter if they are related to you, you might still have to call them ma'am or miss or missus. FYL though.
Using the term "grandma" might not have been the case...it might have been the fact that you served someone related to you...that isnt allowed for certain reasons
