Today, I was written up because my manager heard me insulting a customer. How did I insult her? I called her grandma. Who did I say this to? My grandma. FML

The insult wasn't that she was old, it was that you outted her for being related to you.

YDI for not explaining the situation to him (and having him call your grandmother, if necessary, to prove it). (AND for making/taking personal calls at work.)

It doesn't say it was a call. Maybe the OP works at a café or a shop or whatever and his grandmother stopped by.

Thats not what they meant. the connector meant that op's boss could call op's grandma to see if the grandma IS op's grandma

Because, he was written up for it. It's that simple. There is no disseminating the sentence for secret messages. Chances are at the OP's workplace, it doesn't matter if they are related to you, you might still have to call them ma'am or miss or missus. FYL though.

Using the term "grandma" might not have been the case...it might have been the fact that you served someone related to you...that isnt allowed for certain reasons

Next week it will be a famous person. YOUR PAMELA ANDERSON!!!!!!!! to Pamela Anderson... Fired ....

It's like every boss is an asshole.

The only way to make up for this is to start calling him daddy... If you know what I mean...
