do not give into pressure to marry and have kids... this is a personal choice that you come to in your own time.
That's why this whole "respect your elders" thing is a bit warped in my opinion. That basically means that you have to respect people purely because they are old, even if they pull shit like this. Respect is a two way street and if you don't get it, you shouldn't have to give it.
Because your grandparents still think that you are a baby factory and should not have hopes and dreams not only as a woman, but a human being. Do what you want with your life, and don't let their contempt sway you.
I am sorry OP. Don't give in. When I took my newborn (2nd child) to meet my grandmother she asked if I was going to start working at 3. Mine are 19 months apart. Her argument when I told her no way, two in diapers is more than plenty was "so what, I had 3 in 3 years, just get it out of the way; knock em out back to back."
I'm 16 and my family all did the same a couple days ago ._. I have an anxiety disorder and literally just graduated highschool and they're complaining that I don't have kids or a job or a boyfriend (I might be gay but my older sister, the one person I used to look up to and trust, is homophobic)
People justifiably criticising OP's grandparents for being ridiculous. What would you prefer the comments to say? That the grandparents are right?
Yeah, yeah, "at 18 you have to be married or dead". My grandma was bitching me out that because of my terrible character I wasn't married at 20. I proved the said terrible character by reminding her that she got married at 36 (back in 1938). Speaking about characters....
When I was 15 I went to a wedding, there my great grandma asked me when I'd be getting married and having kids. Asking if I could finish high school first was the wrong answer -.- so I know how you feel. Chin up, do your own thing OP :) if you want it, it'll happen in due time
Because you're not a ****.

If you have had your first blood, then you are clearly a woman with duties to fulfill. Act fast before you become a disheveled matron of 25 whom no man will touch.
Tell them the same thing I tell my parents when they asked why my husband and I haven't procreated yet: it will happen when we want it to, and it's not your decision or your business when it does.
