Today, I went for bloodwork. It's routine for me, so I was ready for the nurse to put in the needle and take my blood. It went in fine, but right after, she slowly pulled the needle out, then wondered why the blood stopped. She then moved it back and forth in my arm while I panicked silently. FML

You're a trooper. I would've screamed like a little bitch. That sounds awfully painful, and this is coming from someone with 4 tattoos.

So what's the diagnosis? Undead zombie or vampire?

Don't let her do it again, ask for someone else.. You shouldn't have to put up with that shit.

I've had this problem my entire life. My veins are deep and small I guess and it makes it harder to get them. Most nurse wil need to do it more then once or switch arms and play around like you mentioned. The worst for me was a total of four nurse trying and then they all failed so one came back and she took it from my foot.thank god I'm not freaked out by needles or mind getting it done I'm used to it now . Still would be nice to get poked only once .

as a phlebotomist and a nurse myself im going to tell you right now to NEVER panic in silence. if you're panicking over something that the nurse is doing then you have that patient right to stop and question. if you know that something is wrong dont be afraid to ask for a new nurse and then report it. I would watch out for bruising and even infection as it is not only unsanitary but also illegal to poke someone more then once with the same needle. best of luck to you OP

My relatives hated the nurses at their regular clinic because they were totally clueless as to how to properly draw blood and could never get it right even after 10 tries on multiple limbs. So now they go to the lab where the blood tests are actually processed whenever they need blood drawn. The nurses there are freaking experts!

I had given blood at a blood drive and the nurse out the huge this needle my right arm but the blood was coming out so she moved to another chair where she could put the needle in my left arm and I ended up walking around school with two bandage arms an everyone was thinking I had donated twice lol

This exact same thing happened to me the first and last time I ever had blood work done, now I have a fear of needles after 13+ years of no fear

Ask for a different nurse. You have that right.

It may have been someone new and they were unable to locate the proper angle, depth, etc. of the vein. Everyone has to learn! Sorry it had to be on you OP

Its within patients rights to request someone else.

i don't mind blood work when i only need to fill like 1-3 capsules, the needle isn't the bad part, its when they can't find a good vein (for some reason my veins are deeper in than a regular persons). so there was this one time when i needed to fill 12 capsules! and they couldn't find my vein so they tried each arm and didn't get enough to fill one, so they tried right below my hand and they tried on each until they finally filled all 12 capsules. and the whole time i like dafuq body? let em' ******* take the blood before they try my leg
