Today, I went hiking with my family. A local had told us about the trail, saying the two mile walk would lead us to a seventy-foot waterfall. After seven miles of trekking in the sweltering sun with no food, we finally found the waterfall. It was barely ten feet tall. FML

At least you got some exercise. And a ten foot waterfall is better than no waterfall at all

This is why you shouldn't just trust anyone

YDI, OP. Why? You went chasing waterfalls! Should've stuck to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to.

Because a four mile round-trip hike would take 2 hours or so?

You should always check out the hiking routes yourself beforehand..so you know exactly what to expect and if you should bring food and such. YDI

You can tell who hikes and who doesn't by the comments.. And common sense.

Is it possible you went the wrong way at some point? Most of the places I hike have short, medium and LONG hiking paths.

Well, now you know to not trust the locals again. But the waterfall must of been pretty cool, even if it was only 10-feet tall. And OP, you guys shoulda brought food with ya. Would of been helpful. Or at least a map of the trails :)

The guy was probably ****** stoned, after all it is 420
