Today, I went hiking with my family. A local had told us about the trail, saying the two mile walk would lead us to a seventy-foot waterfall. After seven miles of trekking in the sweltering sun with no food, we finally found the waterfall. It was barely ten feet tall. FML

At least you got some exercise. And a ten foot waterfall is better than no waterfall at all

Depending on where you're from and where you were can be a huge factor. I'm from Washington and went hiking in Arizona to a "waterfall" which was also about ten feet tall. It seemed amazing to them because there really isn't much water there.

Or that person actually said 17 feet tall and it came out sounding like 70 feet tall to the OP.

You should never go hiking without food, even for a day trip, it's just plain stupid and irresponsible.

Hiking is awesome and such a great workout!

Sounds like you shouldn't believe strangers so easily.. Or maybe you took the wrong trail?

Or, you missed the 70 foot waterfall by forty meters because you stopped at the ten foot one just before it?
