Today, I went hiking with my family. A local had told us about the trail, saying the two mile walk would lead us to a seventy-foot waterfall. After seven miles of trekking in the sweltering sun with no food, we finally found the waterfall. It was barely ten feet tall. FML

At least you got some exercise. And a ten foot waterfall is better than no waterfall at all

Either your "local" wasn't so local, or you went the wrong way and found the wrong waterfall. Also, who the **** goes hiking without ANY food? You completely deserve this and should probably never attempt hiking again.

Haha sounds like black star canyon in California...

"No, no, that's a different waterfall! You were supposed to turn left at the big tree stump."

Don't go chasing waterfalls, please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to.

I'm with you on this. I can't fathom why people would hike in the heat with no food. Even if it were only supposed to take 4 miles round trip. OP can't really blam the guide for all the issues they faced. A few issues could have been avoided by using common sense.

Did you ever think maybe you went the wrong way and found the wrong waterfall?

Are you sure you found the right one? There is a possibility there could be more than one
