Wow. A lot of angry people here. So much of negative vibes. As someone who has given birth twice, the last time being just over 6 months ago, I can tell you that going into labour is no fun. However, if she needed to be rushed off the hospital right at that moment, then she'd been ignoring contractions for at least 2 hours (this is a very modest estimation). Her fault for waiting so long. If the contractions weren't yet that strong and close together, then she's freaking out for nothing. Either way, I think the OP's just looking for something to complain about and is probably just exaggerating the problem.
I was born after my Mum had only been in labor 1 hour so your idea doesn't really work...
That is exceedingly rare. Especially in a first born.
I was 5 weeks premature, but OPs baby could be prem too...
I'm sure the OP would have mentioned that detail. You know, to add to the effect. Ps. I hope all turned out well for your little one :)
and as a woman that has given birth twice, as you said, you'd know that the last thing you'd do is blog/tweet/anything to do with a pc/ about what your husband did or didn't do while you were in labor pains. This post is just a propaganda against online video games, even if this is true, how can she not know her husband? in 9 months there would've been more emergencies than labor.
They all have to start with 'Today', it's a default thing. This could have happened weeks ago...
even so, with a newborn on her hands and a deadbeat husband, how does she bring herself to go online and FML it?
Utter bosh. There are babies who are born to primagravidas with no warning whatsoever, and plenty of ridiculously short labours as well - 30 minutes, 45 minutes, you name it. (Also, to another poster: I know women who've updated their Facebook status throughout labour, and even posted on forums. It does happen. Sometimes labour slows down for a few hours, or women feel fine between contractions. I've known women who baked cakes while in labour, too!) On the other hand, OP, assuming birth wasn't absolutely imminent, it's probably just as well you went to the hospital later rather than sooner. Gives them less opportunity to perform unnecessary interventions on you - like putting you on Pit because you weren't dilating at the "textbook" centimetre an hour, etc. On the other other hand, your husband needs a good whack with a cluestick.
that's epic. you can't pull in new players for 10-25 mans so if he left, he would have failed the group! it's a lose-lose situation. sorry OP, should have told that baby to wait for his daddy to pwn the lich king. at least it's an interesting story to tell the baby when it grows up.
I agree Zolziski. But even if she HAD been ignoring the contractions that were only moderately painful, the husband should have still been focused on her, helping her relax or pack last minute items
What an ass.
Just name the child after his best friend Bobby Jr. Then tell him you named the boy after his father
you husband is lame
