Today, I went jet skiing with my girlfriend of four years. I intended to propose to her. The $2000 ring fell out of my pocket and into the lake. I have no idea where it is. FML

Can you imagine the look on some fisherman as he pulls out a fish with a $2000 ring in its mouth or stomach?

awh dat suxx. but really. $2000 on a ring is alot...

lol at #4. 2000$ is not that much for an engagement ring. u wouldn't know nobody would ever propose to you. YDI for going jet-skiing with the ring in ur pocket retard

It's a $2,000 engagement ring, not $20,000. You are the retards.

To all you spoiled women out there who think $2000 isn't enough to spend on an engagement ring, just remember that engagement is purely symbolic, as is whatever it is you end up wearing on your ring finger. A ring isn't even required, just a commitment. If my husband had spent that much on my engagement ring, I'd have killed him. Maybe jewelry seems like a good thing to waste money on to you, but I can think of plenty of other things that money would be better spent on. Then again, I doubt those of you saying how cheap that ring is have bills of your own to pay.

It may be symbolic, but what does it symbolize when a partner doesn't show that they value you? $2,000 is half a month's salary for even low-end workers. Considering the fact that the traditional cost is 3 months' salary, it's hardly an expensive ring. My ring is an ancient Roman ring that dates back to BC times. No diamond--just a carving of the goddess Victoria.

182 -- I agree, but I would like to point out that several of the people who said $2000 isn't enough were guys.

184, where do you live that 48,000 a year is the low-end of the pay spectrum?? And 3 months salary, no matter how much or little anyone makes, is ridiculous.

wow, that's like saying "I'm going to go jet skiing with $2,000 cash in my pocket." why would you leave something that valuable to chance? you propose AFTER the event during dinner or something!
