Today, I went on a blind date at a local restaurant. When my date walked in, she took one look at me, said "Nope", and walked out. FML

Ouch... Apparently it wasn't blind enough. Sorry, guys. I saw the opportunity... And took it.

Why did you feel the need to come back and tell us?

People always judge by looks, and never really get to know who the person really is. It's a shame.

Sounds like Stewie in that one Family Guy episode.

**** her. You deserve better. edit: not literally

FML retry fail. This one is an exact copy of one from a couple years ago. Try again.

maybe it's the same person, he just got rejected twice.

Life fail if you remember FMLs from two years ago.

Your attempt at humor failed. Miserably. Clearly she meant the '**** her' bit to not be taken literally.

For all the floods of, "I've seen this FML before!": is it really so inconceivable that bitchy/douchey blind date-itis is on the rise? Assholism in general seems to be contagious, so I'm honestly not surprised that the scenario in this FML is a recurring one.

I'm glad I didn't write my boyfriend off based on his appearance when I first met him. If I had met him a few years earlier I probably would have. I had a bad experience falling for a guy who was only beautiful on the outside, but I allowed his superficial charm to beguile me into seeing an inner beauty that wasn't really there. I learned my lesson the hard way. Then my sister told me about her friend, Jared, who was kind enough to carry their drunk friend home even though she was being very belligerent in public. I thought he sounded like a really nice person and I looked forward to meeting him. I wasn't impressed with how he looked when I first met him at my sister's birthday party, but I gave him a chance and found that he was not only kind, but smart and a lot of fun too. When he kissed me that night I also found that he was a very good kisser. We went on a date the next day and really hit it off. He called me the following.weekend after I went home (over 150 miles away) and we talked for (I'm not exaggerating) 14 hours, only taking breaks to eat and go to the bathroom. Over a year later we are still together and very much in love with plans on starting a life together. Jared is by far the most beautiful person I've ever met and now when I look at him I wonder why I ever thought he was less than incredibly handsome. **** HER life because she's as foolish as I used to be and passed up a chance at what may have been a wonderful relationship. She'll likely fall for a guy whose only redeeming quality is his appearance and get her heart broken. You, on the other hand, were spared wasted time with a person who clearly doesn't deserve you, and will likely one day meet someone who will look past any physical flaws you may have to see your true beauty from the inside out. Good luck, OP, and chin up!

That was.... That was beautiful. Happy wishes to the both of you.

Best short love story I've read in a while... Wish you both the best life and love have to offer...

You have restored some faith in humanity; both for giving your partner the chance to prove himself, and your profile picture. :3 Walking Dead FTW

OMG! I'm in the middle of watching last night's episode now! I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't watched it yet, but golly this season is turning into a real nail biter!

T-T if only the rest of us had stories like that to share. Curse you, you superficial good looking male sirens! Where are the good guys at?

Attraction is a complex thing. If possible, try to look at this as not wasting your time either. It's not that you're an inferior person, it's just that she's looking for a Cadillac and you're a Lincoln.

43- I'd love to thumb up your comment but I can't on my phone! I agree with you wholeheartedly. As the cliche goes "Beauty is skin deep" but op's blind date is a sad reflection on how judgemental society is.

Thanks! The sentiment is appreciated. :) BTW, are you on the android app? You can slide a comment over to reply to it or thumb it up or down. I've been on this app a while and used to log onto the mobile website just to reply to comments. Then I told someone I wished I could vote them up on my phone and someone told me "you can." I was like, "WHHHHAAAAAAAT?????" Don't feel silly, if that's the case. You're not the first to make that mistake. ;P

Thank you!!! I had no idea haha. I'm on an iPhone 4S. So many missed thumbing opportunities for nothing!

Well now I feel dumb. Wow. Thanks for the enlightenment, haha. :)
