Always always always go out with enough cash to cover for both of you, expect to pay for yourself, and be pleasantly surprised if the guy buys for you. If you wind up paying for the both of you and the reason is not acceptable/his portion of the bill is not refunded to you, either in straight cash or through him treating you on another occasion, you know damn well he's not worth your time (though most would figure this out sooner - freeloaders are often smoothtalkers, but freeloaders nonetheless). Going out anywhere with anyone, always EXPECT to pay your portion at least, whether it be a date or movie with friends or whatnot, if you don't pull your own weight around your friends or romantic interest, they'll probably dump your freeloading ass to the curb. IF the man wants to pay for both of you, don't look at it as the expected norm, but rather as a kindness and gift extended to you - being an ungrateful bitch to people who're giving you things is the surest way to ruin it. Aside from which, if you went along with his dine and dash you deserve it.
