Today, I went on a first date with a guy I really hit it off with. Then he admitted that he was a recovering heroin addict and had to cut our date short to go to the methadone clinic. When I got home, I realized that my wallet was missing $40. I think he lied about the "recovering" part. FML

Ever thought that MAYBE you POSSIBLY left the $40 at the restaurant, leaving it to pay for the bill but ACCIDENTALLY paying too much without noticing? You shouldn't just jump to the conclusion that your date stole it just because they take/took drugs.

ewwwww well look at it this way, at least now you don't have to waste your time on a 2nd date

haha OWNED. but just think, it could have been so much worse.

YDI for having enogh in common with a heroin addict to "hit it off"

because drug addicts have no other interests which someone else could be interested in. All they care about is their next hit. Yep, sounds about right [/sarcasm]

Maybe he is really in recovery... he's recovering from heroin addiciton, it won't recover him from being a thief... And just to mention: women are always falling for the jerks...

well forty bucks is only going to get him two bags and if hes really an addict, one thats "on his way to recovery" two bags arent getting him anywhere. one of my best friends is, unfortunately, a heroin addict so yeah, i know a lot of shady things. and did you ever leave the table for a long time? how do you know that he took it?

Depending on the time of your date, it's unlikely he was going to a methadone clinic. Most of the clinics are only open in the morning to get the methodone into the addict's system so they will be less likely to withdraw during the day. That's how it works where I live, anyway. He may have stolen the money, he may not have. If you really hit it off with him, it might be worth seeing him again. Just be careful. Addicts are people, too, though.

wait, you didn't bring your wallet to the date? wow.

#58 yes she did how do you think money was stolen

Be fair to the poor guy, he used to spend $60 a wekk, he's down to $40. Date him, feed his addiction, then use it to a.) Control him entirely, or b.) Help him recover and create a great man that will love you forever.
