Today, I went to a conference for work. When I got there I sat beside a woman about my age. She immediately got up and moved to the opposite side of the room. We were the only two there. FML

Why did you sit right beside her if you were the only two there in the first place? You probably creeped her the **** out.

Maybe it's just cause I'm British but personally I'd do the same. Why did you feel you had to sit right beside her? She probably just doesn't like strangers in her personal space. I highly doubt it was anything to do with you.

Yeah, I'd be weirded out if someone sat RIGHT next to me in a totally empty conference room too. Most people don't like sitting next to strangers if they don't have to.

That's like sitting next to the only person in the theater. Creepy.

if you are the only two in the room why would you sit right next to her? that's uncomfortable.

YDI. All that room and you sit next to someone? Do you not realize how creepy that is?

What everyone else said. Why the hell are there more votes for FYL? You don't just sit down right next to a stranger unless there are absolutely no isolated seats left. In fact, the same thing happened to me the other day...you wouldn't happen to be that same creeper who tried to sit next to me, would you? Do you even have a life? Freak.

thats what you get for not respecting her personal space. if there were only two of you, that means there were PLENTY of seats around! Why would you sit right next to her. You're annoying! I would have moved too!

Yeah well so can I. Anyone can shut the **** up. It's not hard. So why don't you?

"I went to a conference today. I have bad issues with personal space, so I made sure they aren't fully booked. When this woman (a bit younger than me) came in and sat down directly beside me, I moved to the other side of the room. The conference wasn't fully booked for real - we were the only ones. She looked angry and hurt, I felt like shit for the entire day."
