Today, I went to get a nice, relaxing hot stone massage. Instead I got second degree burns on my legs. FML

hot stones on bare skin never seemed like a good idea to me. i mean who came up with this? dont you think instant burns?

Totally agree! I always decline those...I can't imagine how that could be soothing.

and i instantly thought of Big Mommas House . yeah that scarred me enough to never get one of those

Those aren't burns. They're new beauty marks. Congrats!!

Why would you think anything with the word stone and massage in the same sentence be relaxing

Well if it was stoned and massage I might have signed myself up.

I do believe that a lawsuit is in order. Even if you signed a waiver, if they overheated the rocks you can get paid for your troubles.

Ooft, Burns suck! But the 'Hot stone' In 'Hot stone massage' should've been hint. Maybe OP has sensitive skin?

I never thought those hot rocks were that beneficial to pay for it. What they should do is have them put under a mattress, then you lay on it, and relax. Regardless no one should pay for burning! Sorry that you had a bad experience!

Hot stone massages are amazing, if done correctly. (Just for the people questioning why one would want to get it done.) They always (should) check the temperature before placing the stones on you. Sounds like you went to someone without experience. FYL

Yep, this right here. I guess if OP ever does go try it again s/he will make sure they check. Or I'd hope anyway. That's not a mistake that warrants repeating.

If it was me I'd throw a hot stone at them. Just cause I'd hate to get blemishes from that.

Yes, because op would pick up the object that gave her second-degree burns.
