Today, I went to go get a new ID because my wallet was stolen, which had my social security card in it as well. I found out that to get your ID you have to have your social security card, and to get your social security card, you need your ID. FML

Today, I was told I can't renew my Identity Card without a Social Security Card, and I can't get a replacement Social Security Card without an Identity Card. FML

Today, my wallet got stolen. I don't have a photo ID to get a temporary debit card, and since I don't have a debit card, I can't go to the DMV to get a new license. FML

Today, my wallet got stolen. I had a bunch of cash, my SS card and my license in it. Now I have to replace everything, only to have to renew my license again when I turn 21 in June. FML

Today, I got a change of ID. My old ID had its corner cut off and was given a temporary paper ID. I went to a bar in another town to have some drinks. Turns out I couldn't because they couldn't use my old ID or my temporary one to let me drink, even though I'm 22. I've been there before and I work at my town's liquor store. FML

Today, I misplaced my wallet. Fortunately, I knew exactly where it was. Unfortunately, I had just taken out the only form of picture ID that morning. I couldn't stop the finders from laughing as they saw my fake celebrity entertainment ID while I tried to convince them it was actually my wallet. FML

Today, I went to go get my driver's license, only to be told that I need a copy of my birth certificate. In order to get the copy of my birth certificate, I need a driver's license or my passport. In order to get a passport, I need a copy of my birth certificate or a drivers license. I have none. FML

Today, I had gone to the store and bought a new wallet. 5 minutes later a security guard asks for my receipt. Turns out I had dropped my receipt. Some guy had picked it up and pretended I had stole his wallet. The guard confiscated my wallet because the guy had "his" receipt to prove it. FML

Today, I found a wallet containing an ID card. I managed to track down the owner, who now is threatening to call the police if I don't return the 400 dollars that he insists were also in it. FML

That really sucks but I have to say this is a YDI specifically because you chose to carry your ss card with you. Bad idea. A lot of people do it because they don't know any better but your giving an ID thief everything they need. Unless you were only carrying the card temporarily because you needed it for something. in that case, well, it's mostly a FYL. I wrote all that mainly because I think people should know it's unwise. Doesn't hurt the spread the news.

Oh and BTW, I finally got my SS card by giving them some documentation from school (college). They can also issue you a temporary card (it's basically paperwork stating that you are who you say you are and that the SS# belongs to you) and that will allow you to get an ID, which will allow you to get a permanent SS card. Yeah, it's a pain tn the ass, but that's bureaucracies for you!

They give you your SS card with your birth certificate. Stop over dramatizing things. *rolls eyes* Also, never ever carry your SS card in your wallet. YDI.
