Today, I went to go get a new ID because my wallet was stolen, which had my social security card in it as well. I found out that to get your ID you have to have your social security card, and to get your social security card, you need your ID. FML

only an idiot would keep their social security card in their wallet. you don't need it most of the time, so why have it with you when you can get it lost more easily that way. dumb..

You can get either of those with your birth certificate, which does not require any form of ID to get. You just need to know where you were born!

Thats why they tell you to keep your social security card in a safe place in your home. NEVER in your wallet.

HAHAHAHA FYL. and why are all comments buried? but once again ahhahahaha/ ahhahahahah. aahahah. so like u dont exist now. no form of proving it. HELL YAAA

Why would you keep your SS card in your wallet? YDI.

What the hell is the deal with the comments being buried? And yeah, that sucks... but you shouldn't of had your social security card in your wallet...

Hopefully you know how to read. That way when you get your new social security card you can read the information card they put in there that says you should NEVER keep it in your wallet. :) YDI

Well, yeah, but what if you're starting a new job or something? You have to have both your ID and your social security card. Then you forget to take your social security card out or have your purse/wallet stolen before you have a chance to take it out. That's what happened to me. I lost my purse while I was out doing job searching, so my social and my ID were both in there.

So many negative votes? Is Anon trolling us for the lulz?

Ugh, I know, I had that happen to me. And in Ohio, you can't use your birth certificate to get a social security card, either. And I don't have a passport. I guess the best thing to do is never have your purse/wallet stolen.
