What did her parents do? Back her up? Unless she reached over and took it out of your hair or off the table, you dropped it somewhere. Finders Keepers. If it's that important, have an announcement made that someone lost a hairclip and hope they're honest. If they're not, one mark against them and they're not raising her right - not your problem. I make my kids give shit back if it's not theirs - either to the person looking for it or to lost and found. You wouldn't have a problem with me but not all parents are like that. Seriously? It's just a hairclip so cut your losses instead of fighting if they say, "No" to giving it back. I say FTheirL because they're not raising her right.
Yes, I did wonder that. It seems likely that the OP set it on her table, which means she was playing with her hair in a restaurant. Just two of the many YDIs in this FML. Others include: actually owning a Hello Kitty hair accessory, caring enough about it to fight with a child over it, assuming the kid took it, losing the argument, and attaching enough significance to the incident to let it **** her day.
That doesn't necessarily mean she was playing with her hair. I know if I have clips or bands in my hair, if they start falling off/getting loose I'll take it off before I lose it.
You'll take it out without going to the restriom, and not stick it in a pocket or otherwise out of sight? If the little girl saw it, it was in plain view, and any way you look at it, loose hairclips should not be in plain view at a restaurant. She should have excused herself and put it into her Kermit the Frog purse.
YDI for having a hello kitty bunny clip. Those are for kids 8 and under.
Does it really say 8 and under? I'm sure I remembered it as 3 .
3 plus* damn sign didn't appear
YDI for being cheap
aren't you too old to be wearing a hello kitty clip anyway?

I feel ya, OP. It's not immature to be wearing cute hair clips. A lot of people also do that. It's stupid that the kid got your hair clip. You'd think her parents would notice that it's not hers and maker her give it back...
that little *****!!
