Today, I went to my cousin's house. I left my bag on the couch as my aunt instructed, only for my cousin to take it and throw it into the swimming pool. My laptop, textbooks and notes were soaked. My exam is in a week, and my aunt won't punish her perfect little angel. FML

Do the same to her little angel computer...she will get the message ...

Then punish the aunt by handing her a bill for your damages and then may be a couple thousand dollars later she will know how to discipline her child and there's ways to do it without beating

I have bad luck with technology so I learned to always have my school stuff backed up on an external hard drive or an online storage site like Dropbox. Very useful in these situations. Seriously though, kids needs discipline and your aunt HAS to pay for your stuff (at least what it could've been sold for if not what you feel it was worth/costs to replace).

That sucks op make sure you sue for damages if you don't your silly. Update us please

If I knew she had little brats I wouldn't take expensive stuff there

I know the feeling dude, while mine wasn't nearly as bad I had a neighbours brat of a kid throw a fit because I told him no to having a snack when dinner was in 5 minutes. The creaton (just what I call him now) threw my bag in the pool soaked my new speaker, ruined my passport and totally killed the remote for the new security system at work. He's lucky he's alive and his mother did nothing to punish him either. Anyway I'd throw a huge fit demand the brat be punished and have your aunt replace everything, or better yet if the kid gets allowance make the kid replace everything. (I know she won't have a lot of money but if her mom replaces it she can just not give her an allowance until it's paid because that ***** expensive at least thousands)

It sounds to me like Aunt is refusing to believe her child did it. But yeah, I'm with the sue happy people. But first I'd suggest calmly talking to her about the physical damages and going to your professors and explaining what happened. I really hope your computer was backed up.
