Today, I went to see Star Wars with my brother. The entire time he talked about how scientifically inaccurate and improbable the entire movie was. FML

Some people don't deserve access to Sci-fi, or fantasy for that matter. Everyone has thoughts about how unlikely parts are in films, but keep them to yourself, at least until the film is over

I went to see the Jurassic World movie with some friends and their friends, one of my friends friends got so fed up with the inaccuracy of it, he throws the popcorn on the ground.

It's about a war...in space... How accurate is it really going to be?

If you go to a movie expecting it to be true to real life you're going to have a bad time

and a waste of money and time and ruin other people's time in it

It's a movie that takes place in space. With swords made of light. Did he REALLY think ANY of it was going to be scientifically plausible upon entering the theatre? It sounds almost like he wanted an excuse to complain or wanted attention in a "look how smart I am, this movie is dumb" kind of way

Ugh I hate people like that. Films like Star Wars aren't meant to be realistic!

It's not meant to be realistic, it's science fiction/fantasy. Fiction and fantasy being the operative words. I thoroughly dislike the anal people who go out of their way to show how "smart" they are by pointing out the things that are "improbable" - they're missing the entire point of the genre and making themselves look like assholes. I hope you "accidentally" poured your drink on him.

It IS scientifically inaccurate and improbable. What's his point?

The struggle of watching Doctor Who with someone who isn't familiar with it. My mother felt the need to say how it didn't make any sense every five minutes. I feel you, OP.

Of course it is, it'd be boring otherwise.
