Today, I went to the dentist to get a baby tooth which had decayed removed. After almost an hour, I came out with a numb mouth and a missing tooth for life. It was not a baby tooth. FML

If your old enough to use a computer, why on earth would you even think it was a baby tooth?! YDI for being a dumbass.

It could still be a baby tooth and them be older. I'm 20 and I have a baby tooth that 2 of my adult teeth trapped in. I'm getting it removed fairly soon. I also have 2 decaying teeth because of overcrowding, it's impossible for my toothbrush and floss to get all the way back there even though I'm a stickler on brushing my teeth. But, OP, if it was decaying you'd want it out anyway. But try and get a false one to put there or something so the tooth adjacent doesn't slip out or the ones near it try and "fill" the gap. That's what they told me may happen with my baby tooth if the adult tooth doesn't come out. >.

I have a baby tooth still too, and I'm 21. My mom still has 2 baby teeth and she's 45. They never fell out because there was never an adult tooth underneath. So, if you still have baby teeth...you don't have adult teeth underneath OP. this sucks, but it may be a good thing....me having mine pulled caused my other teeth to straighten out.

i had a friend from school who still has most of her baby teeth and she's 22, she doesn't have the adult teeth to replace them. He uncle, had 3 sets of teeth, his baby teeth were pushed out then so were his first set of adult teeth.

So was it the wrong tooth or what?! as long as they took a decayed tooth, that's all that matters right?

YDI because you still have baby teeth.

OP is upset because she figured once they took the baby tooth out an adult tooth would grow in, but now she's stuck with nothing lol At least thats how I understood it.

Well... If the tooth was an adult tooth, maybe the OP would like it fixed instead of extracted? Also, there are some differences between "baby teeth" and "adult teeth" (in both size and shape...++), so the dentist should know that the tooth was an adult tooth and not a baby tooth.

Look on the bright side, OP! As least it didn't get infected and then spread to your brain. AND you won't have to blacken any teeth if you want to go as a hobo for Halloween.
