Today, I woke up at 7 am to take my last final. When I got to the parking lot, I realized my car was missing. After speaking to the police for 3 hours, I called my girlfriend to let her know what happened. She then told me I had parked on the street the night before. So much for the 8 am final. FML

Some people decide they don't want to take a final and say, "You know? **** it--I'm not taking this". Others devise elaborate scenarios so they can pretend to themselves that they really wanted to take it, but circumstances made it impossible. Guess which one you are?

YDI. Actually what you deserve is for Clay Aiken to appear out of nowhere and roundhouse you for making such a boneheaded mistake like that.

Are you trying to make Clay Aiken the new Chuck Norris? It ain't happening.

LOL that sucks, should have called your girlfriend first.

I'd have the girlfriend drive me to my final and worry about the car later, but that's just me.

Why didn't you call you girlfriend sooner? Also, how come you didn't look around frantically for your vehicle? It's not like you couldn't have noticed if you'd actually bothered to do a decent job of looking around for it in the first place.

I'm sure OP was super sleep deprived, and that obviously had an effect. but taking a minute to call his GF and look around a bit would have definitely helped. I had my car stolen once, and I looked frantically once, called my fiance, and then looked for another half an hour. I also called the towing company before I called the police, thinking maybe they hadn't seen my parking permit and towed me...everything I could think of before calling the police. I'll never understand why people rush to call the police, but maybe that's just me. OP- at least your car didn't get stolen! it really sucks that you missed your final and wasted all that time, but...at least you still have a car. having a car stolen is awful, especially if you have important stuff in the trunk :(

it's not stupid to forget where you park at all. the part that got me is he made all these phone calls but when I forget I actually remember about 10 15 seconds later ohhhh I parked over there

It's common to forget where exactly you parked on the street if you always park on the street or say forget where you parked in a parking garage if you normally park there. However, the way this post is written he doesn't usually park in the street and most people would remember if they parked somewhere unusual the night before.

If you did relatively well in the class, or were showing inprovement or were trying to do well, maybe the professor would make an exception and allow you to re-take the exam. You will probably have proof of a police report. While it sounds stupid to say aloud, at least you will be following up with the professor and show you are making a real effot. Youmay have to go over his/her head to the department head or to the dean of stuents, but someone ought to be able to override any "no". Good luck to you!

I think colleges should give some sort of introductory class where they explain the hazards of too little sleep. My dad told me so many stories about sleep deprivation disasters on final's day that I never had one. So parents, talk to your kids before its too late.
