Today, I woke up hungover and thirsty, I found a glass of water next to the sink, filled it up with more water, chugged it and went back to bed. I woke up an hour later to my best friend telling me she thought she lost her contacts. They were in a glass next to the sink. I ate her contacts. FML

I would never drink out of a glass that already was filled with water, especially after a night of drinking with no way to know what the glass contains other than water. Is it normal to even put contacts in a glass of water? I thought that you were only supposed to put them in their containers with the saline solution.

oh gross who keeps their contacts floating in a glass of water?

i wear contacts....ur not supposed to put them in water...because they swell. well, it depends on the type she uses, but most contacts swell in water, that's why you use solution...unless you drank solution, then you should have known. and who doesn't keep their contacts in a case, that's really disgusting, and not to mention if it gets dirty, and infects your eye, you could go blind. i think you did her a favor by drinking them, saved her from going blind. just consider it as taking on for the team. :p

Made me laugh, =p. To the ppl who are like, "WHY would you put your contacts in a glass of water; you can't tell which is which," why don't you read up on that shit instead of assuming dumb logistics. If ppl have no choice and want to keep their contacts, they stick them in as clean a liquid they can get. What do you think they're going to do? Leave them sitting on a napkin? And ffs, it's not that hard to figure out which contact goes in which eye. If you see better with one combo (and there are ONLY TWO combos), process of elimination.

Why would you be in a situation where you have no choice but to use water? You always have the choice of throwing them out. If you wear contacts and can't plan in advance making sure you have your container, and still insist on not disposing of them then you deserve to go blind anyway. Anyone risking (even if the risk is small) permenently damaging their eye sight to save their lenses is either lacking in an appreciation for their eyesight or has something wrong with their mind.

I've put my contacts in a glass of water before. Not overnight but for a couple of hours while I was at work and my eyes were irritated. I didn't have my glasses with me and needed to see to get home so I couldn't just toss the contacts but didn't have solution either. I've also used water to clean contacts if they've popped out and I need to put one back in. It may not be the smartest move but it works. I have the same prescription for both eyes so it doesn't overly matter to keep them straight.

No, you technically DRANK her contacts. And does this remind anyone else of that Family Guy episode with the pie? "Can you feel me inside you, Brian?"

Duuuuuuuuuude, she needs to get a proper case and some solution for her contacts rather than letting them sit in a glass of water! That can't be good for her lenses, her eyes or your stomach ;)

...aww. When I was younger, I ripped all of my brother's contacts for fun. >_

Okay your eye's can get infected for sleeping with them in , and you just clean them out with the solution at home (really well) And they are fine . And not everyone has a different perscription for each eye. I would put them in water instead of sleeping with them in i would rather my eye NOT be infected. Fwi, When your hungover you don't care what your drinking/eating Plus its not THAT gross . Ive herd worse.
