Today, I woke up to my cat giving birth, on my bed. I adopted her from a friend, who told me she was spayed. Now I have a giant mess and a cat who won't let me move either her or her babies. Guess I'm sleeping on the couch for a while. FML

This is OP. Mama and babies are safely tucked away in the guest bedroom. The mom put up one hell of a fight and i have the scratches to prove it. All six kittens are doing fine. Spoke to my friend, she admitted to lying about spaying the cat. I told her she could pay the vet bills and buy me a new mattress.

Awe cute kitties :D but ur friend prob knew she was pregnant that's why he gave them to u and make sure the babies are carefully unwrapped by the mother and getting food and safe because u don't want to pay for the expenses of a sick kitten or mother

I know this feeling all too well, OP. Someone gave me a cat who was two weeks pregnant and nobody knew. Then she had 5 babies on my bed and every time we tried to move them she brought them right back seconds later. Needless to say I crashed on the couch for awhile but I didn't mind that much. Honestly as much of a pain as it was as the time I'm glad it happened. It was a great experience watching them grow and even giving some to loving homes. I hope your experience becomes just as lovely as mine was.

Sounds like a stubborn mama lol. I'd love to raise kittens but we spay all of our cats :/ I'd be fine giving up my bed for a while so that they could be in a comfortable area while dealing with what they need to.

When I went to get her spayed they told me she was pregnant and I wish I could describe the look on my face. It was very lovely regardless but I'm certainly never dealing with it again. I kept most of the kittens, too. They'll be a year old in two weeks! Definitely wouldn't recommend just getting a cat pregnant though, but if you ever come across one you'll probably love the experience as much as I did.

Aww :) I wish we could've let my 5 year old Norwegian forest cat have a litter...I would love to have more cats that are like her. But them we would also have had to find a male one :/ but I do plan on later letting 1 cat have a litter and then spaying.

Place a box with warm blankets in your room. Mommy will move the babies into the box. A box is much safer for the babies. Make sure it is big enough for mommy to be comfortable.
