Today, I wore what I thought was a hideous sweater from the thrift store for an ugly sweater contest. I've gotten more compliments on it than anything else I've ever worn. I can't even succeed at failure. FML

Today, we had our annual office Christmas party. The theme of the party was "Ugliest Sweater". The winner was a sweater that I have an exact replica of in my closet. It's my favorite 'special occasion', 'family portrait' and 'holiday' sweater. FML

Today, I tried on a sweater in a store. It was a bit tight, but I managed to get it on. When I tried to take it off, it got stuck halfway. After several failed attempts, a sales associate had to help me out of it, while other customers watched. FML

Lucky or what?

Today, I put on what I thought was my "lucky" sweater for a job interview. Halfway there, I noticed my reflection in a car window and realized it was covered in cat hairs of various colors and a faded spaghetti stain from last week that apparently hadn't come out in the wash. FML

Today, my biology teacher told me that every Friday we should wear a hideous shirt to count down the last days of freshman year. So when Friday came around we decided to have a contest for most hideous shirt. I won. I forgot to wear a hideous shirt. FML

Today, I thought the cashier said the new blouse I picked out was ugly as she was ringing me up. I'm really self-conscious about my fashion sense, so I snapped and started yelling at her. It wasn't until she was close to tears did I find out she said "lovely" not "ugly". So, that's another store I can't go back to. FML

Well, this is my first published FML and the comments were fun to read this morning. The sweater was a long black sweater with a high collar, shoulder pads(!!), and ugly copper beads all over it. Yes, it IS flashier than what I normally wear. I am a receptionist so I wear professional clothes that are noticeably devoid of beads and/or sequins. Unfortunately (or fortunately), it will not become part of my wardrobe. I threw it away as soon as I got home. The neck was so small that I could barely squeeze my head through and I had cut the back of it in order to not feel strangled all day long. It was my first venture into the contest so I think I will just skip it from now on. I still stand my my personal opinion that the sweater was ugly though,
